Top Ten Ways to Call In

Among QPS' four divisions, ours is by far the smallest. Working on mainly Engineering and Operations job orders, our timeframe to fill jobs is 4-8 weeks, and we typically have 10-15 orders at a time.

In contrast, our light industrial and technical groups are a much bigger machine. Last year, we processed over 20,000 W-2's, and worked with over 1300 companies in WI and IL. Among those 20,000 employees, a vast majority are dedicated, great employees...

But of course there are a few that are not so great. Just for fun here are top ten excuses on why somebody could not go to work: How many have you heard?

· "I was sprayed by a skunk."
· "I was arrested as a result of mistaken identity."
· "I forgot to come back to work after lunch."
· "I couldn't find my shoes."
· "I hurt myself bowling."
· "I was spit on by a venomous snake."
· "I totaled my wife's jeep in a collision with a cow."
· "My curlers burned my hair and I had to go to the hairdresser."
· "I eloped."
· "My cat unplugged my alarm clock."

And my personal favorite: "I had to ship my grandmother's bones to India."

Trivia! Last month's answer regarding Earl Nightengale, and what station he worked for???
