My wife and I visited Florida this past weekend. We attempted to "drop in" on my mother and grandmother in-law, surprising them and letting them see Jessie 33 weeks pregnant. (No worries, you can apparently fly through 36)
5 things from our trip:
1) If you want to keep a surprise, lie to everyone. The secret that you're on a plane flying down unannounced will eventually get out.
2) The local crowd at the Sebring American Legion is obsessed with "keeping their buzz." So they eat once in the morning, and that's about it. Just an FYI if you're ever in town.
3) Its cool that Midwest has outsourced their flights to other airlines, but how about more than 40 minutes to run across three concoures in Atlanta???
4) Have a 1/2 day to kill in Central Florida? Check out the Nav V Gator Bar near Arcadia. Cool place in the middle of nowhere near the tip of the Everglades with a huge "backyard bar." (My one legit travel recco in this post.)
5) A very pregnant woman is apparently fine with 94 degrees and crazy humidity as long as there is a pool.
